i have a 63 belvedere and i am putting in a 4 spd and taking out the 3 spd, does anyone know of a good no on the 4 spd mech? i know it has to have 2336 on the rev arm and the part where the shifter handle has to be kind of slanted back for the handle to clear the dash. trans is not the ball and trunion it is splined with date on tale 7/30/69. hurst has a no 391-6789. looks like it will fit. what do u guys think?

i will gladly explain whatever it is u dont us. i have a body shifter, i have a b body car, i need a b-body shifter, with the 2336 on the rev arm. On an a-body the splined top is slanted forward when looking at the side view bolted on trans a b-body is slanted back, so when the tall arched hurst chrome handle is bolted to it, it will not hit the dash. i have been told this is a special shifter because this trans would not have come in this car. the car is just a early 60's b-body. i believe the trans is from a 69 rr. will a shifter from a late 60's b-body work?
