I'm not having much luck with the search function on this site, I cannot seem to find any specific information about stuff.

Like a super six. What the hell is the differece? Was it an option? My air cleaner says "super" on it but I have no idea what that means. There does not seem to be any way to decode my vin or option code to find out more.

Are there other Valiant or \6 sites that have more resources on these types of things. Like model history, specific replacement parts to use, a break down of options for different years, archives, FAQ's, common problem data, etc.

This site does kick butt, just looking for as much info out there as possible.

TIA.

The Super Six is a two barrel carb setup. You can tell it from a one barrel by the number of bolts on the carb - a one barrel carb is held on with two bolts, a two barrel with four.

"Super Six" was the marketing name applied to the 1976-1981 2-barrel-carbureted version of the slant-6. They did have an air cleaner decal that said "Super Six". But, from 1962-1969, Plymouths with 225 engines had an air cleaner decal that said "Super 225", and those were all 1-barrel-carbureted.

What year and model is your car? What's the VIN? Other sites include www.allpar.com and www.valiant.org . But, you'll probably have good results on here if you ask whatever questions you might have. Try to make them as detailed and specific as possible (include the make, year, engine and trans type, mileage, any special equipment, symptoms or conditions you're experiencing, parts you need, etc. as appropriate). If you have a long list of questions, it's good to break them down and group them according to subject, in the appropriate boards on this forum.

Welcome on the board!
