You can do a search in the Slixer's Gallery, I think 66Dart had a write up about it.

The profuel line setup, was "plug and play", except a few problems do crop up... you have to tune it, depending on your location it can be very rich in it's initial installed state. The rear carb tends to "boil" after a heatsoak after shut down. Acceleration is not much different than a 4 barrel equipped car (It might be different if someone used a set of staged two barrels instead of the original "all 4 plates at once", and gas mileage might be better too...).

I ran a Proline set-up for a time and then changed back to the 1 bbl. :shock: :roll:

I had the Webers running pretty good but hot restart problems (heat soak) and poor gas mileage were the main reasons I move away from the set-up.

I'll use 2 mikuni solex for that setup (mitsu sapporos early '80 or even late 70's, the 2 litres version came with dual solex mikuni carbs (staged) that where a blast to drive, easy to tune and didn't have 10% of the trouble of that webber junk... oh yeah, did I mention I hate webberss?? )

I have always figured that this type setup may have the best cylinder (fuel)distribution of any of the setups I wander with all the differnt heat sheilding that has come out in the turbo world if you was to use this combined with some spacer made of something that wouldnt conduct heat if the soak problem could be cured.

As far as the gas milage it looks like with a wideband and some serious tuning this could be worked out also. Although it may take some working with & alot of time. I once ran a TunnelRam on a big block Mopar that I got 22/16 MPG out of but it took me about 3 months of tuning to get it this way. It was also more than just changing jets but after the effort & getting them right it was the best & smoothest setup I had ever ran on my big block.

rear unit needs bigger jetting because of heat buildup... front carb is constanly refrigerated by the fan... I never tried a 4 barrel yet but this is nice if you can get 2 staged to sync up nicely.

Im starting to think that a 4bbl setup is the way to go. of course I do have a super six manifold. maybe I should try that first. I do need a carb for it and I need to modify my throttle linkage which is my biggest hang up.

My take is if you want the vintage dual carb look then dual 1 bbls are fine. Dual staged 2 bbls in theory would work better than the Proline 2 bbls as the Proline setup's Weber carbs open all the throttles together.

If you're going for looks and enjoy pain and suffering you might as well use three Weber DCOEs. I don't have as much time on my hands as properly setting up DCOEs requires so I'm sticking with a 4 bbl. If I want to go crazy I'll fab an equal length EFI intake and leave the carbs behind.

the thought of tripple DCOE's make me feel like I anin't getting sleep tonight... to scared to get Mr Freddy Webberugger killing me in my sleep! :lol:

Part of the other problem, is the back of the engine bay is a nice warm cozy spot and the front gets a nice wind from the fan.

I had almost thought a set of phenolic spacers 3/4" thick might cure the problem, of course just going to MPEFI with dual throttle bodies for the "wow" factory would take care of things too...LOL
