That's cool Doug. I miss the old Slant 6 Club of America meetings and shows I used to attend in Arizona 10-15 years ago (Time sure flies when you're having fun).

I really wanted that green '72 Dart Swinger at the local Jeep dealership in Tucson in 1991. I loved the body style, it had a new paint job and only had 63,000 miles on it! What a cream puff. Then I popped the hood and saw that strange looking engine laying over to one side. Darn! No V8.

As I was signing the papers and paying the $1,500 to buy it anyway, the salesman handed me a folder with some papers in it and said maybe I should check out the local Slant 6 Club of America chapter before I went and pulled the engine for a small block swap. "What!? A car club dedicated to an engine!? And it's not even a HEMI or even a V8!? This I gotta see..." It was the first real "car(engine) club" I had ever joined.
