If not, what years will fit my 63 Valiant? |

If we're speaking of 7 1/4 rear ends I think so, but you may need to swap parking brake cables and possibly the brake hose. You might even end up with all RH threaded wheel studs. Don't forget about the gear ratio. |

How's it goin, Josh? Yeah, I'm too lazy to put RH studs on that left rear corner. Also, that bad noise seems to be louder - is it just an axle bearing or something in the pumpkin? Who knows (not me)? .: replace the whole thing ! I'll check my ratio, but the FSM says it's 3.23. Since gas costs more now, should I consider a 2.93 or 2.76? (I don't care about out-accelerating rice-burners) Or will reducing that ratio too much actually hurt mpg on an automatic trans car? |

3.23s with a 225 and an automatic? I would have figured it for 2.93s. Anyway, tens of thousands of 225 automatic cars came with 2.76 gears. I've owned several myself and was happy with them providing the engine was stock. If you want to visit again we can go for a ride and see where the noise is originating. |

3.23 was optional with an auto tranny some years. The taller gears were standard. |
