Hey Everyone, I'm new to this site. I have been reading around this site, and had to join. Sorry if I should have posted somewhere else first. If everthing is good & well, I have a question.

My dad has a '64 Chevy II, in which he's putting a 292 six. He's got plans to "Rod" it up. HELP!

I want to stay competitive(in a friendly way) with my slant six. What can I do to keep up?? 4-bbl, 295/530 cam, 10.5:1 CR, anything!
Any and all help will be appreciated greatly!!
Thanks,
Kyle

This will help....but spotting yer Dad 70 cubic inches makes it tough. You will have to build your car lighter and with better gears than your dad. Consider a 5 speed and mebbe a turbo.

Both cars will have to semi-streetable. Dad will most likely keep his dedicated to weekends, while I'll probably drive mine more.
I have to find a way around those 70 more cubes! I'm convinced to have 10.5 to 1 Compression. 3000 stall. 4.10 gears, Headers, I'll do the head work myself.
But where can I find a big camshaft? I looked at the Erson lines, on Summit Racing, but I have a feeling those are chevy lobes on those cams. Does Racer Brown have any SL6 cams? What's the biggest street cam ya'll have, and where did you find it?
Again, thanks for any help!
Kyle

I submitted a cam request from them through FBO a few weeks ago, and never heard back. I ended up going with the Erson cam. Engine won't be back in the car for at least a few weeks, though.
