Post subject: | Strut Rod Interchange |
Scored a 73-76 Disc brake setup at the junkyard today for my 69 Dart with 9" drums. Got everything but the strut rods (one was bent) But in looking at the Moog bushings listings for strut rods, they list one set for 60-72 and another set for 73-76. How are the rods different? Can I use the 69 strut rods w/ the 73-76 lower arm. If I remember right the original lower arm for the 69 9" brake setup has a smaller ball joint which I want to stay away from. |

The rods are the same, the bushings changed. I am using '75 rods in my '65. The only thing that I noticed was the later ones were a tad bit thicker. Use the bushings for your model of vehicle. |

thanks kesteb. I had a chance to compare the 2 rods. The later rods (73-76) have a coarser thread pattern on the front end, and the earlier ones have a fine thread at the front. Since the lower a arms are the same, I assume that the rear thread pattern on the rods would be the same. |
