All "A" body 8 3/4 rears are SBP. "A" body never was made with a LBP 8 3/4 rear.

No axles are the right length. Also the SBP 8 3/4 axles use narrower brakes so if you cut down say C-body wagon or D100 8 3/4 axles to fit then the overall width is about 3/4" wider. Been there, done that.

You can take your axles and have them welded and redrilled for LBP. Or you might get lucky and find a set someone has already cut to fit or done the welding. They just have to be the right lenth and offset for the brakes. Also I thing the left & right axle are diff lenths so if measuring a set be sure to check the proper side. I have seen people run B body rears in A bodys. By the way you ask your question it almost sounds like you have a nother rear the get the axles out of. Just measure them to see if they fit. Lenth and brake spacing is all you need to worry about because all the bearing sizes and mounting hardwear is basically the same.

Oh doesnt the 73 up A bodys have big bolt pattern wheels anyway. Or did they quit making the 8 3/4 by then.

They used the 8.25 axle assembly in those years.

The SBP 8.75 axles don't require welding to redrill for LBP.
Use screw in studs instead of the press in studs with the large shoulder.
Have a machine shop use a lathe to scribe a 4.5" circle and then drill 5 holes 72* apart and tap them for 1/2" fine thread (1/2 x 20?).
Aftermarket axles are best to use, mostly because you change over to the common 10" or 11" Mopar rear brakes and ditch the 10" A body brakes that are getting hard and expensive to find parts for.
