I got a phone call from a guy whoraced a slant from the 70's to the mid 90's He heard I had a real strong intrest in racing a slant from afriend of a friend type of a deal and wanted to know if I was intrested in buying some stuff off of him. I'm hoping you guys can give me alittlle amplifying info on what he offered me. 1)engine bored .06 over not shaved and no head work done but a fresh rebuild still on engine stand. Engine stand included. I told him I wanted to pull the head and see the cylinders and he has no problems at all with that. 2) Headers in real nice shape with the exception of one small dent on the #6 Tube. They have the #5601H stamped on them I've seen this number before just can't remember were are they cliffords or mopar. 3) cam in the engine is a P4286681 4) Cam/lifter kit still in the box P4286679. The brown cardboard box that holds the cam has the number P4286678 on it.. 5) Holley 600 pt# 1850-3 needs a rebuild. 6) clifford intake I know about this and I already have a offenhauser If anyone could help me out withe the part # on lines 1 thru 5 and verify what they are and tell me alittle about them I would appreciate it Iknow I could be opening a can of worms as far as opinions go. I think this guy is playing square with me especally since he will let me pull the head of the engine and I told him it wasn't that I didn't trust his word but he told me he did not assemble the short block the guy who bored it did. What do you fella s think this packsge is worth everything is nice and clean also.I forgot to mention also included is a 8.25 sure grip with 3.23 gears for a A-body Thanks Flatiron |

These things are very subjective, depending on quality of work, parts used, age, condition, how much you want it... 1) Somewhere between $300-1000 in my book 2) Sounds like a MP header? Don't think that's a Clifford #. $75-250 3) I believe that is the MP 0.460" cam, which is a nice street/strip (mild/medium) cam. Someone has posted a spreadsheet with Slant cams on this site somewhere - do a search. $200-300 for both cams/lifters. 4) carb - $50max if needs rebuilt. 5) Cliff intake worth at least $150 on the open market. Sounds like a good spread if you can take it for a decent price. I wouldn't offer more than $1000 for everything, but maybe some of the parts are really nice??? Might even offer $5-600 and see what he says. Lou |

We started out at 1200.0 and I told him I just can't go that high. he came down to $800.00 |

I'd say that's a great deal! Note that it's an 8 1/4, but that's still a nice rear to have with 3.23 SG. Do it. Lou |
