Can anyone recommend a Quality complete conversion kit for a 9" drum to 10.87" unicast rotors.
What do we know about MP Master Power Brakes?

Buy all factory replacement type parts for say a '75 Dart or Valiant. There are no short cuts to do this right and have a serviceable system. Unless you consider a '75 Duster disc brakes parts car for $200 a short cut. That's how I did my last disc brake swap.

MasterPower fit and quality are substandard from all the reports to which I'm privy.

i used the MP kit for a 73 dart disc brake conversion and did very well with it. I upgraded because my 17 yr old starting driving and did not want him using the car with 4 drums. He is still complaining about crank windows. The power assist unit is bulkly and i if i did it again it would go for manual brakes rather then power. THey sent the cross drilled rotors because they were out of stock on standard for the same price.THe stopping power is great. IT stops like a new car. DOesnt start like one but i am working on that.

I bought the MP Brakes conversion system. It clearly states to use only DOT 3 brake fluid. My car is already Silicone DOT 5. The new components are dry. There shouldn't be any problem with using the DOT 5 fluid, should there?

But the title of this thread is Quality drum to disk conversion. What happened?

Yes, I was looking for a quality drum to disk conversion. Then I bought one. (I hope). Now I'd like to put DOT 5 in this kit.

My advice would be to contact the manufacturer, and see what they say.
Many people have had good success with dot 5 silicone fluid.

I used to work on a fleet of lift trucks, which had silicone fluid. We had to convert back to dot 3, to prevent wheel cylinder leaks. At one time Bendix was making master cylinders for Harley/Davidson MC, and would not warrenty the parts if dot 5 was used. There you have it, the good, the bad, now it is up to you to find the ugly.

Some of the rubber parts are not compatible with DOT 5. The only way to make sure is to contact the manufacturer.

Did you have lots of line work to do with your kit?
Mine looks like it is defenitly not a drop in kit.

I found the major work was putting in the new spindles and hooking up the front end again. The stuff fit together well. As i mentioned i would not use the power option if i did it again. the assist unit is bulkly and i had to run a vacuum line. ALso you must check your wheels. The 4 X 5 will not fit and now i have to carry two spares. IT was a decent amount of hours but never got over my head and i am not an expert mechanic by any means.

Did you find the front hoses to give you any problems with fit? Mine will not go on as the picture shows and the calipar in the picture is different than mine. If I flip the hose over it will rub the tire and frame when turning.
I'll need to call them Monday to see if they sent the correct calipars or wrong hoses.

i did not have problems although it was annoying that they sent b body instructions with the kit so some of the pictures did not match up.
