Hi I was just looking in my mopar performance book and it looks like mopar offers new leaf springs for A body's but i think their is a typo in their so i figured id ask will the leaf springs out of a 68-72 A body work on a 74 A body (in the book under the description it states the "springs are intended for a 68-72" but in the part # field it states "xhd leaf spring-1964-1975 A-body"

sorry to bother with a stupid question but i don't want to buy the wrong springs

Not a stupid question at all. All the '64-'76 A-body leaf springs are directly interchangeable, and '60-'63 A-body leaf springs get added to the interchangeability list with minor bracket mods.

But, buying new springs from Mopar Performance will probably be quite a bit more costly than getting them from Espo. (Call them, they don't list them on their site, but they have all variants. 4-leaf, 5-leaf, extra heavy duty, etc.)

I know in Portland, we have Benz Spring has been around since they were making Hupmobile springs...you may have a local company that can make you what you need also (in this case Benz had quoted me a set of V-8 springs for my Duster with bushings and shackles for $250 for the set installed 2 years back...probably more now...but still...)

What bracket mods are required for a '63? I swapped 6 leaf springs out of a '73 Dart 4 door w/ AC into my '63 and didn't change a thing. Did I miss something?

Now I'm trying to remember, exactly. Think it's a 3-bolt (early) vs. 4-bolt (late) pattern, but my memory just won't provide a clear picture for me.

Maybe mine is a late '63 build. If it was a bolt pattern, mine wasn't different.

I was afraid there might be something I had missed.

Thanks, I feel better. :D
