Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to this site, but I've been a long-time fan of mopars. I just sold my '72 Scamp with a 360 motor because I really wanted to get a slant six car. A guy I know has a '73 Dart Swinger with a slant six. The car is bone stock with a triple-brown look (exterior, interior, vinyl top). The body is in better than average shape, with a slight dent and some minor surface rust, but no holes or bondo. It needs a new exhaust (which I would do anyway for dutra duals) and new paint once the rust is sanded off.

He's asking $5,500 for it and he's not willing to go any lower. Oh, the car has 20,000 original miles.

Do you think it's a fair price?

no. That is a fair price for a fully restored desirable model. Any dents or rust holes are unacceptable on a 70s A body over $2000 JMHO

There was a 66 cuda for sale here this week for $1300....a little rust and a dent

for $5500 you should be able to buy 5 average condition A-bodies.

Thanks for your thoughts, guys. I thought he was over-priced, but I wanted to be sure. He insists that the car's worth at least $7k because of the low miles, and that 5,500 is a steal. I can't believe how hard it is to find a /6 around here. Everything else I've seen locally is a "was a 225, now a 318" car.

Yeah, your guy who wants $7K but will "settle" for $5500 is out of line.

You've got a private message, by the way; I want to sell my '71.
