According to Galen Govier my car is on the line of when engine and trannys got chassie number.
And this number does not match my VIN.

For an engine cast in 11/67, it would end up in a '68 model year car. When was your car made? Maybe in the last couple of months of 1967 or January of 1968? Its certanly an engine that could have come in your car.

Eric, the car was produced on Friday the 15 of march 1968 according to Galen.

I though that the early engines wasn't stamped on the id pad, or was they??

Take care.

Mr. Sixpack, be careful. Galen doesn't know nearly as much as he claims to know, and frequently makes-up answers to questions. A great deal of what he says/prints is not correct, and there are even less scrupulous things he has been known to do. He has spent a great deal of time, money, and effort creating his "guru" marketing schtick, but that is primarily what it is: a marketing schtick. Sadly, enough people have bought into it that "authenticated by Galen Govier" has market value for a Mopar, which is exactly what Mr. Govier set out to achieve. If for market reasons you must attach his name to your car, then grit your teeth and do it, but do not take his claims as infallible truth—they aren't!

Your engine ID decodes as follows:

PT: engine made at Trenton Engine Plant

225: engine cubic inch displacement

2358: 4-digit date code based on production calendar...this particular date code indicates the engine was made on January 11, 1968.

0360: 4-digit serial number (begins with 0001 for each day's production), so your engine was the 360th one made on January 11, 1968.

If you will post your car's VIN and a clear, sharp, close-up photo of the fender tag (sheetmetal tag with letters and numbers, secured to one of the inner fenders or the radiator support panel) more specific information can be provided about your car's original equipment and build date.

Dan, I have had my problems with GG to and knows what you talk about.

My VIN is XP29B8B319750
Body code B8X183102

The car is at the painter so I cant take any pictures of fendertag or radiator suport.

Hope this will help.

Take care
