has anyone on here had to narrow an 8 3/4 rear? i went to the local yard and found one beneath an a-body, but before someone beat me in getting it. as i was leaving i saw one over in a pile with other rears and got it. its from a dodge pickup and it had 3.55's in it. theres no pumpkin but i have one in my garage. the perches are in the right location but there on top of the tubes so those have to be flipped around. but the big thing is going to be having to narrow it up. any tips or suggestions? and whats the stock flange to flange length for an origional a-body 8 3/4? any help is appreciated |

There is an article on the moparts website. Look in the tech archives under drag racing tips. |

ok ill have to follow their advice on narrowing it up. i checked the dimensions and the spring pads are 43" center-to-center, like the a-bodys use but it 59 inches from flange to flange. is this the way the trucks were built? theres no evidence of the perches being moved |
