Good, clear pictures. That vacuum port that connects to the ELB computer could be ported or manifold. Go ahead and proceed with your changeover, then see if that port has vacuum at low curb idle or not.

Sorry, if I'm changing the subject. I have noticed that your pcv looks different than normal. I have noticed this on 56 Dodge's truck also. He said his is working fine, its not shooting oil out of the breather or the dip stick. He told me " AC spark plug type PVC valve and the part number is CV-761-C. NAPA list two PVC valaves that will replace this PVC valve the part numbers are CRB29207 price 3.99 or part number MPF39207 price 1.99." Do you know what your application is for and/or do you have a # for it?

Your whole setup looks factory. The inop device that is relative to throttle rest/open? Now it just adjusts your truck idle.

This is just a different style of PCV valve. The metal-body type like this fits and works just fine, same as the plastic-body original type.

The napaonline.com part numbers aren't quite the actual part numbers. "CRB 29207" is actually an Echlin 2-9207 valve, that is a quality unit. The "MPF39207" is actually a Mileage Plus 3-9207, that is NAPA's "Value line", i.e., Chinese crapola. Avoid it.

I'm not sure I understand the underlying question, here. Are we asking "Hey, what's that funny-lookin' PCV valve?"? Or are we asking for help in troubleshooting or building a PCV system?

Around here I can get:
O'REILLY
MICROGARD - PCV Valve Part No: PCV163
FRAM - PCV Valve Part No: FV163DP -sp order
ACDELCO - PCV Valve Part No: CV761C -call
BORG-WARNER - PCV Valve Part No: PCV207 -call

AUTO ZONE
CHAMP PC51 -sp order

ADVANCED AUTO/PARTS AMERICA
Purolator Pcv Valve PV761
Fram PCV Valve FV163
Borg Warner PCV Valve: NASCAR PCV207 $7.99
This is what shows up on-line anyway.
The reason I'm looking so hard is that mine whistles. I tried a different one, but still whistles. I also tried the 1/8th hose into the pcv valve. It worked, but I don't think it is working for the engine. I get some oil out of the breather.

Your carb looks very similar to what is currently on the goat, Carter BBD. Mine is not original. And I don't know how similar to the original it is. I do have pictures somewhere of the current one broken down.
Your wires on the ecu also looked a little chewed on.

You've got a vacuum leak somewhere downstream of the PCV valve (hose, carburetor body, carb-to-manifold gasket).

...? Which 1/8" hose into the PCV valve?

It's just a 1'' to 1/2" piece of 1/8th" hose that is put inside the top part of the PCV valve. It's suppose to be a trick to stop it from whistling. Given to me by another.
I'll have to check and make sure there are no other leaks in the PCV system. Thanks for the info!

Um...this is a poor idea. Deliberately clogging the PCV valve is NOT the way to fix the problem.

If you need any exploded diagrams of the BBD, let me know. I have rebuilt more than a few.
