Our 71 Swinger has a rimblow steering wheel. The horn now has a horn button added to the lower spoke of the wheel. The wheel is in very good condition aside from the switch. I have not been able to find any sources for the switch other than complete high dollar restorations, which I really don't need. Has anyone worked on these or have a line on a switch? Thanks. |

I don't know for sure, but it seems to me the rimblow switches are very similar in technology to the "push to request stop" tape switches found in many city buses. Perhaps a couple of phone calls to coachbuilders such as Neoplan would get you pointed in the right direction. I have no idea how wide of a switch tape you need, but take a look here. Perhaps they can help you with a near-exact replacement (when you send in what you have for their evaluation). I found them by googling "tapeswitch". UPDATE: Here y'go. Expensive? Yeah, but this was the lowest price I found...the average was $140 to $180! ![]() |

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to check the length on the ford switch. I was even thinking about what it might take to make one. One of my other ideas was just to take it off and save it and get a nice aftermarket wheel. It would be nice to keep it on there though. |
