fred has made me fall in love with hydro motors....no valve adjustments!! fred has been the recipient of a tranny rebuild and acts as a test mule for things like distributor mods (FI one day?) before they get tried on the barracuda.

that and he takes me fishing!

Yeah, hydro motors are really nice, especially in low clearance veicles like vans when adjusting the valves is a royal PITA.

this am, he was a knockin' on start up! also, for the 1st time ever, he used a qt of oil per tank of gas between the last oil change. sooooo, i'm thinking of what to do to old fred!

ideas thus far:

SI oversize valves
port clean up and bowl blending
.040 overbore
cam upgrade (suggestions welcome)
3.90 or 4.10 rear gear set (it has the .71 833od)
heavy duty clutch
.090 off deck (will require different pushrods, i know)
Holley 350 2bbl?

this won't be going on until summer vacation, because fred has to keep me warm until then! by then i will be able to ride the Motorbike again!

Sounds a lot like my build. I think it'll make you quite happy. You may not need shorter pushrods though; I didn't. I like the 270 Erson cam I've got, but I don't actually use my pickup to haul much; it gets more use as a commuter vehicle.
