Justa thought.... I have a 2bbl from a '62 318 Fury. If I mill the pad off the 1 bbl. intake, and enlarge the hole to flow with the 2bbl., will I have enough thickness left to tap 4 holes in it? (for the carb?) Wait.....linkage clearance. I guess you could machine an aluminum spacer? Just wondering. I know this'll catch some flak. Dan loves to shoot things like this...... |

The '63 carb is kinda primitive, and you might have air cleaner hood clearance issues (old "clamp band" style air cleaner attachment to the carb). There'll also be choke hassles to deal with. Usually when people turn 1bbl intakes into 2bbl intakes, the 1bbl mount pad is ground off, a 2bbl-sized hole is knocked in the top of the manifold, and a 2bbl mounting flange is installed. The top wall of the manifold is really too thin to bolt the carb directly on, and you also wouldn't have the correct carb mounting angle (note how the 1bbl flange is tilted relative to the top wall of the manifold). See this thread. |
