Fellow Slanters,

If you are a handling freak, you might be interested in this event, to be held the day before the Mopar Spring Fling car show in Van Nuys, CA on May 4 and 5.

I am scheming to try to make this event with one of my cars - we'll see.

There will be possibly the biggest collection of old Mopars on a road course in recent history.

See this link for details and entrants who are signed up already.

And a couple of other flyers for Spring Fling and the Speed Festival:

I may be the only Slanter who is really trying to make it so far. You don't have to have a road racing car, and it can be a street driver or a racecar.

Hope I can make it and see some of you there!

Well, I am getting closer to going to this. Should get the 64 Dart back from the paintshop tomorrow or Sat.

Menko (newlancerman) is coming, and I am working on Mike Andreas to come out with me. Looks like Doug is going to Redding - pity they are on the same weekend.

Anyone else interested? There will be more than 15 road racing old Mopars there, including a pair of 69 Daytonas.

Uhmm...
Seeing that this event is on Thursday 5-3, there is a chance I can get there and still make Redding on 5-5 (Saturday) I am not sure if I will run the car but it would be cool to get a feel for the action.

Doug,

If you can make it, that would be very cool. Will be a cool collection of old Mopes and some newer ones too.

OK, I am definitely going. I just paid registration. Only have to reassemble 64 Dart trim and bumper, and do a little suspension reorganizing before it is ready.

Hope to see some die hard Slant Sixers and/or Mopar handling freaks there!

This will be a very rare event, with 12-18 old Mopars carving up the Willow Springs course. Includes a 1969 Daytona wing car, TA cars, Team Starfish Cuda...

well I could bring the 67 dual cab that puts all of 75hp down, or even the 50 beetle, that is 36hp. They'd be rocking man ;)

We could probably have the "who can push the beetle faster" event in the pits. Now you've got me thinking...

You taggin-a-long?

Dang, wish I had a car for this. This is exactly what I would love to do with my car.

Maybe someday. :(

Boy, if I had a car ready for the Valdosta race, I think I would hitch a ride with you. Have fun, and be safe.
