Once again I need one. A few lenses for the 1963 Dart Wagons are available on Ebay and elsewhere, but nary a one for the 1963 Dart GT. What exactly is the difference between the tail light lenses for the various models? My parts number brochure shows different numbers for the four models as follows:

170 lens & gasket (all except wagon): 2421183
270 & GT lens & gasket & bezel (all except wagon): 2421185
170 Wagon lens & gasket & bezel: 2421146
270 Wagon lens & gasket & bezel: 2421180

Has anyone ever made a good one from two broken ones?

The "except wagon" lenses will physically interchange with one another regardless of trim level, and the "wagon" lenses will physically interchange with one another. The wagon lenses are right vs. left, and are shaped differently than the non-wagon lenses (which are the same right & left), and the 270 & GT cars got fancier taillamp lens dressup trim than the 170 cars.

The wagon lenses aren't presently being reproduced. I recommend you get in touch with David Azzopardi at www.tailights.com . Tell him Dan Stern sent you. He does absolutely amazing lens repro work. I had him make some special repro lenses for me for my '71 Dart, and while it did take awhile, the wait was well worth it.
