Well, I've recently got my project car on the road and the first thing I notice is an (old spring) type sound when I turn corners. My car is a 69 Charger with /6 and 3-tree shifter. I bought the car in Reno NV a few years ago and am sure that all of the bushings probably need to be replaced. I wasn't sure if the torsion bars were still good or not. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Go corner to corner and bounce the car by hand to see if you can replicate the noise and narrow down the source. Don't go rebuilding yet before you narrow it down. |

Could be the bushings squeeking inside their sleeves. Or it could be the thin zinc plates between the leaf springs are worn out/missing. Jerry |

I too being from Nevada would check all rubber components first. T-bars may weaken but never to the point that they are unuseable.Upper control arm bushings are easy to see.the lowers not so without disasambley. Do not count out shock noises too. On a Dart we had new rear shocks that were noisy for the first 10 or so miles. Drove me nuts... |
