My 83 D150 has a leak where the fuel neck passes into the fuel tank. There appears to be some kind of plastic ring or something holding the filler neck into the tank. The plastic item appears to be cracked or deteriorated. Gac is leaking out in small quantities; I can see the stains on the outside of the fuel tank. I went looking for this problem because I was continuously getting water in my fuel and the truck would have sputtering fits. I would put some HEET in the tank and everything would be fine for a day or two, then right back to intermittent sputtering. Does anyone know how to repair this? Do you think the parts are available new to fix it? Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark von Petner

Ok, I got a good look at it and it appears to be a large rubber grommet where the filler tube passes into the gas tank. Any ideas where to get a replacement part if the dealer doesn't carry them any more?
