I'm in the process of painting my exhaust and intake manifolds. While I was at it, I blasted and repainted the air filter cover black. I want to add a little character to it by painting a six on it somewhere. Should I do one big six across the whole thing? Or a bunch of little sixes around one of the rings? /6 225-2? I'm going to do it in red, high temp paint. I figure I can spray the paint onto something, them use a paintbrush. Here are some pictures. The Old '83 Goat

I'd say one big six, a bunch of small ones would look tacky IMO. Why don't you make a template using cardboard/paper/etc, or use tape to mark the outline of the six and just spray it direct? I remember trying to use spraypaint in a cup then brushing it on, and it didn't work so well, too thin to brush. Lightly scuff the black, especially if its gloss, so the red sticks. |

Is this a Super Six air cleaner if so how about a stock top lid that is orignal that says Super Six. Thanks Ron Parker  It Aint Over Until I Win |

I've been playing around with a design for a custom air filter housing. A stainless fab shop that my company does business with has a water jet machine that does some nice work. Thing is...I'm working on a dual 1bbl set-up, so I've been trying to design a single housing that will sit on both carbs...and use an off-the-shelf air cleaner. Since I haven't picked one up yet, does anyone have the carb center-to-center distance of an Offy dual intake?? Thanks, |
