is he done yet? I thought there was supposed to be some announcement with pictures of them.

I'd be interested if I can see them ahead of time.

well, they didn't turn out quite what I had envisioned, so I'll have to pass.

I am looking for the long style cliffords to replace my old long style cliffords.

yeah I think his concept was to build shorties based on the cliffords, so they can fit 170s and early As as well as later As.

Good luck. I looked for about 5 years, before I found a NOS set, for an early "A" body. They came with a whole bunch of other NOS slant racing parts, I bough from a guy in Texas.

okay, that makes sense then. they still look a bit, "odd" to me though. has anyone done any trial runs with them?

Did they stop making them? I found them online the last time I looked (about six months ago). Maybe they just didn't update their site, and maybe it was one of the many sites they have let die off over the years.

come on clifford, I have money to spend and your killing off the deal! the shorties look like a bigger pain in the ass to me.

Clifford stoped making the long tube headers, years ago. They had to have too many versions, to fit the different chassis, and felt it was easier/cheaper to make the shorties. The shorties will fit almost any chassis. The major fit problem with the shorties, is they will not fit an early "A" body with a 170. I don't know about a later chassis with a 170, but don't think they will fit them either. I did find out they can be modified fairly easily to allow the 170 fit. Just did this on my 66 Cuda with a 170.
Sometimes a NOS set of long tubes show up on E-Bay, but you need to be sure they will fit your vehicle.
