| Post subject: | 74 dart headlights... |
I need help. I wanted to see if all my lights were working today, so I turned my ignition switch to on with out turning it over. I turned the headlight switch on and then everything turned off (heater, stereo, etc.) Now I can't start my car. Could it be a fuse or something? I'm not totally smart when it comes to electrical in this situation, and I don't know where to start. |

Did you smell anything out of the ordinary? Did everything return to normal after you turned the headlight switch off? If it didn't, then you need to look at the wires coming into the bulkhead connections on the firewall. There are 2 thicker ones, 12awg, one of them labeled with a tag that says Fusible Link. Make sure they aren't burnt and the terminals/connections are solid. |

Okay, that was very helpfull. It actually turns out it's a loose wire after the fusible link into the bulkhead connection. I just kinda wiggled it, and everything turned back on. But I couldn't manage to loosen the connection to get to the wire to replace it. Are there clips that hold the bulkhead connector? |
