Post subject:  Stromberg WW on a Super Six?

Picked up a Super Six setup at the junkyard a couple of weeks ago, and finally got around to taking at apart. I found something wierd... It has neither a Carter BBD nor a Holley 2280. It has a Stromberg WW. The carb looks to be a bit simpler to tune... Anyone had experience with this carb?

The WW Stromberg is (or was) reasonably common in Australia.
Rebuild kits and parts were available for them last I checked, but that was about 15 years ago.
Let me know if you are having trouble and I will enquire around here.

The WW was used on 273s and 318s through '67 (a few in '68 ). It's every bit as good a carburetor as a BBD when in proper repair, and as long as it's the 273/318 sized unit and not the larger WWC3 for the 361+ engines, you should be able to make it work well. Rebuild kits are still available. Jets can be had but are harder to source. Choke hookup may require some ingenuity!
