I'm looking at putting a brand new rear end in my valiant. I figure these are the two that are easiest to get parts for. any suggestions? I figure the 8 3/4 might be easier to get brakes for as well. will also be switching to big bolt pattern. |

I actually know a guy who is selling a modified ford 9" rear all the work to the rear has been done (relocating the spring mounts and such) i think it still needs axles tho. if you want i will give him a call and find out price and stuff. |

Don't really know how many different ratios are available, but I recently got a 4.10 pumpkin, at a swap meet, and a drum to drum rear from a JY. Was much cheaper then an "A" body 8 3/4, and doesn't require the driveshat be shortened.![]() |

The Ford 8" actually has more gear combos available new than an 8 3/4" Mopar. 8" has 2.79, 3.00, 3.25, 3.40, 3.55, 3.80, 4.10, 4.30, and so on... Lou |
