Post subject:  Wiring for Line Loc

I am getting ready to start wiring my line loc. The kit from Summit comes with a fuse holder. Many of the diagrams online show a 30 amp relay and no fuse. What are the pro's and con's of each setup? Shouldn't both setups use a fuse?

Relays are always good to use( got a brother in law that is a electrical engineer and he relays everything ) Check to make sure that it is a relay, it just maybe a circuit breaker 30 amp.To tell the truth I run a 20 amp fuse for over 10 years now and no problems.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know of a good schematic for the fuse, switch, light and solenoid?

This is just off the top of my head and others may or may not agree.
use a keyed power source. I use the starter solenoid because it is near where you will put the line lock solenoid. From there install a 20 amp inline fuse and run to your switch, from the switch run through your lite and back to the line lock solenoid. have the solenoid plumbed into the front brake. go from master to solenoid to front brake line junction. That's about it . Make sure that unit is grounded good bla bla bla ,,,When you hit the switch it should click loud enough to hear. A firm push on the brake pedal,,,,push and hold the switch button, relese the foot brake,,, should lock the front brakes until you release the button.......That's about all I know .Again there are other ways, that's just how I do it.
