I have a 73 Swinger with a clip on speedometer cable. If I was to change to an aftermarket speedo with a 5/8-18 male connection, is there an adapter I can get, or do I have the change out the whole cable? |

Swap the cable assembly; they're neither difficult nor expensive to buy. |

Is there a certain year Dart cable that can be ordered with the proper connections at both ends and the right length? It is an A904 trans. Thanks!

A '66 Dart cable will drop right in. ATP part number Y-803. Rockauto.com shows it for under $10. |

I got my new speedo cable, but am a little confused. It is a complete unit with crimped ends, but on the box it mentions lubing the cable, and it included a small tube of lube with the cable. I would assume that a complete unit like this is lubed before they put the cable into the sleeve, and the instructions are some general thing covering everthing they sell, other instructions for other types of cables were also on the box. However, before I assume anything, I thought I would post this. How would I lube the cable without taking it apart? |

The cable core pulls right out of the casing from the top (where it attaches to the speedo head). Follow speedo cable lube instructions posted here. You can use the supplied lube if you want. No, they're not ready-lubed from the factory. |
