Post subject:  Campbell-Hausfeld Compressor
Does anyone know where I can get a reed valve aasembly for my 30 year old Campbell-Hausfeld Air compressor. The reed valves broke off at the attachment points.

I went to their website and entered my Model Number it said there was no such thing in their database.

Give them a call with your model number.

My father-in-law picked up an old Campbell-Hausfeld compressor for me last fall at an auction for $10. I gave them a call, got answers to a few questions, then they e-mailed an exploded parts diagram with part numbers.
I drained the tank, put $60 worth of parts into it, and it runs like a top.

I have an old gas powered aircompressor that needed the reed valves replaced and I got them at Grangers. It is a speedaire unit but the compressor turned out to be Campbell-Hausfield. Grangers seems to want about 1 1/2 times the price of everyone else but at the time I didnt realize that it was a Campbell-Hausfield. Emsvitil had a good idea with Sears. If you go to www3.sears.com there is a place to enter the model number and it does not have to be a sears model. That 3 in the www is supposed to be there in case you thought it was a mistake.

I wrote down the Model number, went to their website and found the Manual for my model. Used the part numbers from the exploded view (which are not exactly like the ones in their database) and found the exact parts I needed. Thanks SSD for that gentle nudge to try the Campbell-Hausfeld front door.

Isn't it amazing what you can find when you do a little of your own homework and digging? I wish more people would!

No kidding!

Armed with a model/part number and a little persitance, I've saved myself a ton of money.
Also, I'm not afraid to tear into something myself and fix it. I figure, if it was put together by someone, I can take it apart, fix it, and put back together. Plus, I know that if I do it, it will be done right the first time (usually :oops: ).
This is what people used to do before the days of the repairman that charges you $60/hour to replace a $2 part in less than 5 minutes

I'm probably a pain in the arse to some people when I'm tracking down parts and/or info that is 20+ years old, but hey...
