I had the same problem with my clifford headers. I used the thick gasket from Cox bros. and just bolted it together. The difference between the intake and header flange thickness is very clear. This is on a race car and I have not had any problems with leaks. I'm sure some machine work can be done to the intake to correct the problem. |

Hooker provided special spacers to make-up the difference. Sounds like you will need to take some measurements and make some spacers. These are best discribed as 1/2 washers, appx 1/8 thick. I usually tack weld them to the header flange so the don't get lost. DD |

Clifford uses a thicker flange, then the Hooker or MP headers

Hello Charrlie is clifford the only one offering this? |

As far as ready made headers, Clifford is the only one currently using the 1/2 thick flange. There are some suppliers offering the flanges alone in the correct thickness. DD |

Like Doc said. As far as I know Clifford is the only one with a 1/2 thick flange. If Harold ever gets the spitfires done, they will have a 1/2 flange. There are flanges available to build your own headers. |

I used the regular crescent shaped manifold washers on mine under the side of the factory crescent washers. Don't you need to run Clifford intake with the Clifford headers? The Mopar Performance headers I didn't install had some nuts welded to the flange. factory or not? I couldn't tell as I bought them used. |

Yep when I pulled mine out of the box the nuts were welded on from the factory. |

Quote: Don't you need to run Clifford intake with the Clifford headers? A Clifford intake will not work with all headers though. The rear tube on the MP/J&R headers will hit the rear runner. Yes, MP have the 1/4" nuts tack welded into the proper locations. ![]() |

That was my idea. Tack welding nuts on the header flange. Mister Twister decided to use half moon key ways(sp?) instead of nuts. It DOES look better. ![]() ![]() |

Any header for the vehicle, should work. If there is a flange thickmess difference, just do like Dodge Girl and Mr Twister did.
