OK I am planning to get into some "Bracket racing" for fun on friday nights, with my 66 cuda. I am starting with a fairly clean slate, the previous owner states the engine was just rebuilt, and I have installed a freshly rebuilt a904. I just got my hands on a 2bbl intake, and am awaiting my birthday on the 16th to find out weather or not I need to source a bbd, and lokar kickdown Any way I do drive this car every day, so am not really looking to build a crazy car, just something fun. Here is what I have in mind, let me know if I am way of base, or could get better bang in another fashion: Super six intake Carter BBD Dutra Duals dual 2 1/4 or 2" Exhaust? Mill head .100? NO2 perhaps 75 or 100 shot (What is Safe on stock type internals?) What are suggestions for suspension Mine seems tired, I am thinking about one of those poly kits from just suspension up front, and some sort of leaf spring upgrade in the back. Will I be making enough power with the things mentioned above to warrant any special suspension parts for launching/Wheel hop etc.? Also what order would you suggest I do the modifications in as I can only really spend $500-1000/ month. Please keep in mind, that I live in Canada, and I drive this car all the time, so keeping it streetable is important, as well as cold weather drivability. Robb Adams Calgary AB Canada |

Welcome Robb Congrats for being a daily driver in Calgary. Ill bet your cuda raises a few eyebrows. For driveability in Calgary I would stick with a Super 6 and duals. When you need to do headwork worry about milling and camming. The biggest thing you will need to be mindful of is rust. For daily Deerfoot Trail commutes disc brakes are a must. You may use nitrous only if your car is red. |

I don't really drive it on deerfoot much, mostly just between my house and the train station The car is currently white with some rusty parts. and sporting AR Outlaw II wheels and BGF Radial TA's (Wow do they suck in snow, luckily the snow does not stick around here for long.) I think I will get a set of Nokians for next winter, as the ones on my jimmy rock. I was actually considering painting it Tremclad "Real Orange" this summer |
