Those gaskets have gotten really tough to find; they were used only for 3 years ('70, '71, '72) and have been N/A for quite some time. I'm working on getting them reproduced by the same folks who did the good gaskets for the manifolds-to-head and intake-to-exhaust junctions. How quickly do you need one? |

Hi, I can use it as soon as possible but whenever will do, I keep resealing it with hi temp. silicone but only lasts days. I'm going to try exhaust sealant now.. thanks Brian |

Better and more durable: Get some high-temperature gasket material (NAPA JV-128, which is a 12" x 24" sheet that'll cost about $11), remove the cup, and turn it upside down to use as a pattern. Use a very sharp knife such as a new X-Acto. Spray it with Copper-Cote before installation, maybe use a stack of two of them, and this should hold up until the good graphite-composite gaskets are ready. Depending on how well your choke is working, you may also want to pick up a #1231 electric choke kit. |

I've run into this problem also. clean all surfaces really good get some permatex ultra copper silicon and smother it on all the surfaces. bolt down, let dry completely. I did this and have had no problems for at least 3-4 months. |
