Carry the trans in, or bring the car in? It would also depend if the trans needed "hard parts".

Most of the price of the rebuild is labor,
assumming no hard parts...........
local guru to me will do one for around $500+/- depending
on what you want done, you bring it to him (a bit more if you
want, shift kits, cevlar bands and cluches)....
Most bench rebuilders $800+
Most shops remove, rebuild with 1year war and install $1200+

basic rebuild kits with a standard converter should be around
$175, rest is labor and/or hard parts if needed....

call around to shop near you, you may find quite a price
spread........ if there is a mopar club/group near you, ask
if someone rebuilds them local- might get a nice price
brake, or if there is a shop they recommend....

Are you quite sure you've got a 727? Cars like yours mostly got 904s.

The 904's fluid pan is square with a corner cut off.

Actually for pricing, it shouldn't make more then a few dollars difference, between a 904 and a 727

A lot of people just call any rear-drive Chrysler automatic a "727" because they don't know as much as they want to sound like they do

The 904, as has been mentioned, has a square pan with one corner cut off. The 727 has a square pan but with a bulged-out corner.

Your car's fender tag will contain a build code indicating which transmission you've got -- if you'll post the contents of the tag exactly as they appear, we can decode it for you.

But it's almost certainly a 904.

Prices here in Tucson average about 400 to 750 for 904's and 727's. It does depend if you want them to r&r the trans. If you bring it in, it helps the price alot.
