I took the head off the truck yesterday and I took a few pictures. They're in the link in my sig. My neighbor pointed out the red gasket seal on the block side. This makes me think this wasn't the first time the head had come off. I don't have a lot of money to work with on this, which is why I'm doing it myself. But is there anything anyone can see that might cause me unexpected and expensive problems? And are there any absolute must dos? I can take more pictures if anyone has any questions or wants to see anything specific.

The head looks OK to me......the only thing I would make sure of is to get that head tanked because everything is so dirty..

Check the valve guides before getting in too deep.
