Well I got some pics of the ole girl up on the website. Just go to www.drakecoatings.com and click the slant 6 tab at the top. You might have to hit refresh if you have been to the site before.

I am keeping the gas pedal but the rare factory floor mats might have to be scarificed!

Plans are to build an extremely low $$$ boosted motor. After I received 41 emails from various people off the site I think there is plenty of interest in this and would benefit quite a few people.

Right now I am planning to start first with a turbo build using a stock cast iron exhaust manifold and adpating the turbo flange to it. I plan to get the set-up running as cheaply as possible and demonstrate the performance and then start upgrading certain items to show the effect. A running total of money spent will be advertised to give you an idea on what it would cost you to duplicate.

Currently I have $1500 in the car and $45 for a driveshaft U-joint that was bad.(old style)

I am in process of looking for a used CS that would work on the slant and once I find one of those I will starting putting that together as well.

Plans for project Cornbread are to race it at the slant 6 races this summner with our old family friend "Bob the Yankee" driving. When he can not make it down from the frozen north subsitute drivers will be used!

We will be making some shakedown runs on the current set-up this weekend so look for updates on the "as is" performance on Monday!

As a past slant 6 champion says "Stay tuned!".

Tom

I checked out their website and it looks like Project Cornbread is doing pretty well for itself. Tom won his class three times in a row, so the car is pretty consistent. Best ET so far in the 1/8th is 10.85.

The website is totally different. Maybe, they just haven't had a chance to add the racing stuff, to the new site.

I emailed Tom and asked what was up.

Business is growing and he's looking at some big contracts. He changed the website to make it more professional for that reason.

He didn't mention if he would be putting the racing stuff back up, but I kinda figure maybe not.

His email was pretty short. I don't think he has much time for much other than the powder coating business.

Good for Tom. You have to take care of business when it's hot. Always time for toys later. :D
