I got ahold of two valiants. The 72 is a 318 car and the 71 is a slant. I havent picked the cars up yet and I'm curious if they would have the same rear axles? I'm hoping it has posi. they seem to have had the same bolt patteren. I know the 72 had disk front brakes. the 72 is wrecked and I'm just trying to see what parts are worth taking off of it.

72 disc brakes will be SBP (4") as will the 71 drum brake car. both will probably have the 7.25 rear end, unless the 318 was a manual tranny car. but, before u junk anything get under there and look. there is no telling what was in there from the factory OR what ended up there in the last 34 some odd years!
