Does anybody has a parts book for a 74 Dart Sport? I'm looking for the part number of the lens that attaches to the front grille? I think I may have found a supplier to replace the broken/cracked lenses on my Dart. This is the left and right turn signal lenses on the front of the car.

Who'd you find to do the repro work? David Azzopardi I pointed you towards, or someone else?

P/N on that lens (left = right) is 3621 877 for all except premium trim level, 3837 159 for premium trim level.

A company in California has obsolete lenses for 1936 - 1974 Chrysler Products according to their advertisement. The guy I talked to yesterday pulled the part and when I asked him for the part number, he didn't want to give it to me for fear that I would look elsewhere for the part. I told him I would get the part number and call him today to verify we were talking about the correct part. He wanted $148.00 for each one. I need two. I have not contacted David yet. I'm still shopping. I'll let you know after California opens at 9:00 a.m. today. What does David charge? I really like the idea of doing business with someone who is reproducing the part instead of charging extreme prices for NOS items. Remember that lens is plastic, not platinum.

His price is out of line, as it seems to me. And his refusal to give you the P/N is just asinine. What...he thinks you can't get on the internet and find the P/N for yourself (as you did)? Such BS tactics mean "no sale" as far as I am concerned.

See this thread about Azzopardi's work. I paid A$85/pr (about $68/pr in US dollars) for the reproduction items and quality is excellent. I did have to wait several months, so if you need the lenses right this instant, you may be forced to pay the overprice from the California outfit (which company is it that you found in CA, BTW?)

The name of the company is Atlas Obsolete Chrysler Parts in the San Diego area. Phone number is (951) 461-9005. Their advertisement is on page 122 of May 2007 issue of Mopar magazine. Dan, I have spent almost two years restoring this car. If my paint shop will get off their butt, I'll have a new paint job and I'll put the grille, seats, engine, transmission, four brand new taillight bezels, etc. back in it. I am very patient so it's no big deal to wait for David. I placed an order for four new wheel opening moldings with The Paddock on August 10, 2006. Guess what, I'm still waiting because The Paddock is waiting for Layson's to deliver to them. You know Layson's! If you say David's work is excellent, that's all I need to know. I will send him the old cracked lenses and he can do his magic.

"Overpriced" is his middle name, but at least he's a reasonably straight shooter, if rather uncommunicative and not very helpful (viz. this refusal to give you the P/N).

If I were having these lenses made, I'd have 'em made in amber rather than clear, which would open up options for better bulbs (and neatly bypass any exclusivity contracts David Azzopardi has to supply the lenses to only this or that specific vendor!). Don't think there are any such contracts on the '73-'74 Dart lenses, but our favourite con-artist Layson has several such contracts on certain lenses. :-(
