I had the 727 rebuilt by a local guy 5 months ago. New converter and all that. Reverse went out the other day and the jerk said he only had a three month waranty. I have only pulled one trailer and the fluid is new and doesnt leak. The truck is a 1975 3/4 ton all original dana 60 727 slant 6 truck. but anyway, any ideas? did it burn the band up. IT went out pretty quick. Was working fine , then one day reverse was just gone. I'm gonna take the tranny out. But I've never opened one up before. Alittle help! |

Someone sell a video on how to rebuild the 727. John Kunkel is the moparts.com tranny guru. Might try over there. Is that a real slant 727 or does it have an adapter? |

'75 should be a Slant 727. IIRC, the adapters ended around the '70 model year. Pull the pan and look for a small piece of cast iron that looks broken on one edge and a flat piece of steel about an inch square. Flites suddenly losing reverse usually have snapped the hook off the rear band. |

its the real deal 727. I bet no one else can find a factory 3/4 ton long bed step side P.S P B /6 truck. its all rusted out , but its a cool truck. thanks I'll pull the pan off and check for that. |
