I have a 71 Dodge Dart swinger with front drum brakes, and I just started researching converting to Disc. I was planning on researching this for a while, but a deal just came up in a local add. I want some input to see if I should grab this today before it's gone. It is a big pattern set up and comes with spindles, rotors, upper A-frames, power brake booster and prop. valve. Is this all I need for a full Disc brake conversion?

Once again sorry for sounding uneducated - like I said I want to grab this deal if it has everything I need.

I forgot to add, he also has an 8 3/4 rear-end too. It has a 741 case, will this work on the car if I get the driveline shortened? The readend is for an A body

You'll also need calipers.
For the 8 3/4, measure the width between the spring perches and the width from axle flange to flange (the part the the lug nut screw on to) they should match your cars current rear end to within a 1/2 inch or it isn't an A-body rear end. You will typically need the drive shaft shortened in order to use the new rear end.

It sounds like a pretty complete kit, but buyer beware in effect.

The A-body forum on Allpar.com has a sticky posting about the disk brake conversion that will be more informative than I can be.

If you buy in a hurry, make sure you are getting a good price. Good Luck.

Usually when I am forced to make a quick decision, it would have been better to wait, but that is just my experience.
