1. Was looking in some repair manuals yesterday [/i]quickly and was wondering if anyone has tried to use the tail section off a RE42/43. I am sure I have the model number wrong but it would be out of a '94ish dakota? Anyway just looking at the pictures they looked close. Would likely have to swap the valve body also. Has anybody looked in to this? 2. On a second note. What year 904s (that would bolt in behing a slant) came with lockup torque converters? 3. Also how is the lockup turned on? electric solidnoid? other method? I would like to be able to disable the lockup with a switch. |

It can not be done. The main case is different, there are more oil galleries through it to make the OD work. |

Its been said that the lockup converter is problematic with high HP engines. What is the failure? If the lockup were disabled or limited to lock only at highway speeds would it still be problematic? |

Since the lockup in a 904 is hydraulic and not electronic I'm not sure you can disable or otherwise control it. |
