I found some where a chart showing the different length shafts needed between 7.25- 8.25-8.75 rears. I can't relocate it now. Where is this cart or what must be subtracted from the shaft to move from a 7.25 rear to 8.25? |

Do you have the rears? Just measure from the centerline of the axle to the center of the U-joint pocket in the yoke on both rears, there is your difference. I myself would prefer to measure for the drive shaft length while the rear is in the car, just to idiotproof things. |

For the record diff measurments 7 1/4 = 10 1/2" 8 1/4 = 11 3/8" difference 7/8" longer. driveshaft to be shortend 7/8" Measurement from 8 1/4 pinnon to trans tail including rubber dust boot is 53 1/8" this is with weight on the rear. Without weight on the rear its 52 1/2. So you can see that the driveshaft moves forward 5/8" when the car is raised. Driveline place says its 1" difference according to the measurement from trans to pinnon that I provided. I can live with that. |
