I am asking for low buck or no buck hints to go faster etc.

What tire pressure? I was thinking 45 in the fronts. Traction isn't a problem with my radials one legger 3:23's 3 on the tree

Beech Bend!

I'm going out to uncork the headers before it gets too late for the neighbors!

Is this your daily driver?

Temorarily reduce weight. Pull out the rear seat and back cushion, remove the spare and jack, carry NOTHING that isn't absolutely essential.

If you have anything you can work with, clamp the front half of the rear springs up tight. It'll make the suspension work a bit more in drag racing's favor.

Stay out of the water box....a relatively stock slant on street tires doesn't need it.

Clamping the springs. I have heard about that, but isn't that just a way to reduce wheel hop? If your not losing traction you should get wheel hop right? If your not getting wheel hop then clamping the springs seems to me that it wouldn't help.
Of course I have little experience in the drag dept.
Also aren't Mopars less likely to axle wrap or wheel hop than other makes because of the shorter front spring half?

I'm thinking clamping them front, and maybe unclamping rears? That gives lift?

I will play in the water just because of the buzzin open headers. Always did it before just because it is different sounding. Onlly slant at the track

Hooking a cheesy Summit tach up tonight.

Stock cam........look at my sig

What RPM to leave at to start? It doesn't have much low end. I think the accelerator pump is set to the richest setting.

Might be lean with open exhaust?

New fuel and air filter. Think the semi clear plastic Purolator will pass NHRA tech? I kept the old metal one and will bring it.

Gotta change clutch rods! Fix spring.

This is my fun car my work van is my DD It's a hot rod too! Haven't started building the PT

Seeyyyyyyyyyyaaaa!!

The plastic filter should be OK in tech. Glass ones are the only no-no. :?

Just get out there and have fun Rug. You will find the other Slant racers there will take you under their wings and help you more than youn can imagine. :D

And then they will thrash your azz in the first round.

Got my clutch return spring installed. Drilled an extra set of jets. I'll haul them along maybe try them.

Pulled-cleaned-and numbered my yellow super stock wires. I used a Magic Marker to number them. It doesn't last too long with oily fingers.

My fancy bright blue LPC (low profile creeper. Fancy carpet pad has my screen name, cell number written on it.

Got there Friday evening. I saw Rodney (forgot his last name) with his green Lancer. They saw me cruise by and asked if I was racing with the slants! Everyone was checking out my car.

Couldn't have met a nicer bunch of people!

I had nothing but problems. Linkage kept me in 1st gear on 2 passes, had fuel problems. Seymour from Minnesota had a pump for me to swap on!

I have an issue still. Guess I'll sort it out in the future. Ran out of gas @40mph in first.

I was very busy between rounds.

It sounds like my first experience at Bristol in 2003 with the GodsRods Duster. You're absolutely right about not finding a nicer bunch of people! I had many issues with my car that first time and just about every one of the Slant 6 racers came by to help out and visit. That's Rodney Hargis with the green Lancer.

Rumor has it that Seymour won this event, which would be his first win ever at a Slant race.

It was a fun deal. I met Dale Rose, really enjoyed toalking to him and Meryl Bruner (does that guy ever age?). Just had a great time talking to them, and I leave really wanting to get my car going. Dale had some very good advice for me and I told him I'd be calling as my car starts getting stuck together.
Can't wait for the next event!

Got a letter from Seymour Pederson. I bought a used fuel pump off him at the track. He bought a replacement for it. Sent me some cash back as he found out how cheap the new ones were!

Like I said....great people!
