I was taking to a machinist friend today and he offered to try to make a set of rods for my 225. I really don't know what material to use and if I should just have him copy a 198 rod or do a costom length. If any one knows of book or something that I can read to get to know some of this stuff, I would be greatful.

A good place to get info on the latest "super trick" racing stuff is through PRI. (Performance Racing Industry) In fact, the last issue (Vol. #16, number 6, June 2001) had a good story on the latest developments in racing con rods. This trade publication is also packed-full of sources / ads where you can see pictures and get ideas. Contact them at (949)499-5413 and ask for a sample issue. Tell them you are a "racer" or engine builder or some auto related business person. I think a year subscription is $25.00 but this pub. is focused on how to sell race stuff to the racing markets more then how the parts are made or work.

I can't help but think that a carbon fiber valve cover would help too.

I am going to check the bearings tomorrow then put it all back together. Ignition changes are also in the works.

Well hope you get out there & good luck. Say Hi for me to The Cox Boys and the other SL6 racers who turn-out, there is some good money up for grabs at this race and we have no idea what the turn-out will becuase this is our "first shot" at the Hamilton track.

Good typing with you Will, I'm surf'n off to that ss.com site to see what's shaken over there...later,
DD
