If you find all the right pieces it is. There will be a bunch of pieces that are specific to the 65 and earlier cars though.

Trans will bolt in. You'll also need the automatic steering column assembly (AP6 only), the complete kickdown linkage assembly (rods, levers, brackets running from the throttle linkage down to the transmission -- I'm a little fuzzy on whether the AP5 had a rod-operated or a cable-operated throttle. If rod-operated, any AP5-AP6-VC with rod-operated throttle can supply kickdown parts. If cable-operated, any AP6-VC-VE-VF with 1bbl carb can supply kickdown parts), the cooler lines (any 225/Torqueflite car, or can have new ones fabricated), a radiator with a trans fluid cooler built into the bottom tank or an add-on external fluid cooler, and, if you want the conversion to be complete, the automatic brake pedal assembly (AP5 through VC).

Driveshaft, speedo cable, trans mount, starter, etc. will all remain the same.
