After a few mods on the Demon, I think the next step is a new trans. I will rebuild w/ kit from A&A w/ good clutches etc and man valve body that I have. What converter should I get. Looks like it will mainly be a strip car. I have 3.91's M1 w/ holley 350 and two fogger nozzles. So far stock long block but that will change this winter. It went 16.06 w/ probably a 50 shot of juice, that also will change next race. So what would you get? Thanks, Mike |

Call any decent converter manufacturer and tell them what you are doing. They will build one that will fit what you are doing. (Except Dynamic, they will give you their "special" and it will not match your car at all) Make sure you tell them you are running spray. It does change the stall speed a bunch. While you have the trans apart are you putting the V-8 guts in it? The 3 disc clutches and 3 pinion planetaries will not last too long with spray. |

Performance Tourqe Converters does mine Dale Rose, Norm Foster, Ron Hamby, and ect. There web site is ptcrace.com. Talk to Kinney Ford and tell him it is for a Slant Engine. He will do you right. PS mine has been in the race the car for four years and not a bobble. It should come under 700 dollars. Thanks Ron Parker. Bagels On Juice Im On Boost |

HI Mike: We had "Paul" the owner of Turbo Action do our convertors. He was recommended by Dan Meyer here in Chico and they are "bullet proof". They also did one up for Mike Jeffrey. We run a 4800 stall 8" .. You can talk with Paul directly if you ask for him. He will need to know the rear end gearing, weight of your car and cam specs.. This is one area to pay the money and get a convertor that you will not have to worry about down the road. Rons' guy also sounds good...If you are going to do the convertor addition, I would at the same time do the lower first gear thing and manual shift kit . I can't believe your car running that fast. I still remember you taking it down the entrance road for testntune. Paul and I were talking and when the "juice" kicked in, it sounded like a big V-8. It looks like you will be pushing the 14 second range real soon.. |
