Post subject:  Medford, Oregon Slant6 New Race - June 2-3:

We are excited about two new West Coast slant6 races being added to the Medford raceway schedule. (June 2-3 is the first one). Medford has a two-day 'Hot Rod Reunion' event which is very popular with lots of Gassers, front engine dragsters, ect. and has invited our group to be a part of the event. You can stay right there at the track and get in on Friday. There will also be a "free" racers BBQ on Sat. Night.

On Saturday, our own 'show' of slant6 cars only. Then on Sunday, we will be "blended " in with any Inliners that show up and run another complete separate show on Sunday. Dave Mueller with his five speed 11 second station wagon will be there along with others from the Oregon/Washington area along with the "killer bee" team members from California. If you haven't seen a Valiant slant6 station wagon run in the low 11"s, you should be there just to see this car run...

The Windmill Suites in Medford is offering a great reduced price for racers but you must tell them you are a participant at the track to get the discounts. Most are staying there or at the track overnight. Please email me at waynee@dcsi.net or contact Doug for more info. Also, Medford (White City Raceway) has a good website with lots of directions, links, ect. Lets support this first time event by showing up at Medford on June 2-3rd. The phone # of windmill suites is (1-800-547-4747) See you at Medford on June 2-3rd..

The website for Medford (White City, Ore) is www.championraceway.com
There will be lots of 'action' and lots for the family to enjoy at this event. Please try to be there with your car...we need to show them that we are serious about our sport and will be there 'in force'. Prize $$ on both days...See you at Medford on June 2-3rd.

Boy...they are coming out of the "wood work" for Medford slant6 first time racing, June 2-3. Heard from Dave Mueller, CJ...Paul, four cars from Chico, Sergio, glen, Marty, Edd, PJ , Dana, Doug, Randy, David, Doug #2..Andrew..and even Seymour is driving all the way out from Minn. to help support this new slant6 event.
Doug Powers is trying to get the time off and bring his really fast alcohol powered Valiant to Medford.. ( No, not Budweiser powered) Please reserve your rooms early at Windmill Suites 1-800-547-4747. Now we just need some of the cars that showed up from the Sacramento area to make this another 16+ car event...Tristan ? Charlie?

I am going to try to get up there Wayne. It's gonna be tight though. I will just be getting home from Montana a day before I would have to make the trip to Medford. I am going to have to wait and see how much I have left in the tank.

So... the schedule posted on the track's web site says "6th Annual Hot Rod Gasser Nationals & Car Show ('72 or older)"

My 1973 Scamp has a production date of 12/72 ; can I still come play?

Register your car as a 71 or 72... No one is going to care and if they do, tell them you are running in the "special" Slant Six bracket.

The track sets a "older then" year to keep the really new cars out of the event.

Hi Seth: Doug is 100% correct. Just register it as a 71 or 72. Our slant6 group is running our own program and we don't have a year perameter. The track is trying to keep the more modern cars away from this event and will actually be moving the year requirements to 75' and older at next years event. We would love to have you join us..but to be on the safe side, register as a 71 or 72' which is the actual year your car was made. No need to have a discussion at check in..just put 71 or 72' on the entry form.

Charlie: Hope you have enough "gas in the tank" to again join us at Medford. It really looks like a great event...I will buy you dinner at the track Saturday...(Free BBQ for all slant6ers and families..)
Doug: Is DaCuda coming out of the woodwork..??????

The "Dacuda" will most likely pull duty for this race.
This car is serving as my daily driver so it is ready to rock... just need to refill the bottles.

The only decision is if we will regear the car, right now it is 'spinning' a 2.94 posi.
I will most likely leave that gear in just so we can "freeway fly" the 400 miles to Medford.... with the 2.9 gear, the car has a nice 80-90 mph "sweet spot" or it will get 20 + mpg if you drive at the speed limit.

Look forward to seeing that car Doug.
Is Allen gonna try for a perfect light in it?
See you in White City.

Hey guys I have already been saving to get up there! I just have to make the choice of driving the duster up on its own and risk breaking or spend the 220 dollars one way to tow it up with my truck plus rental for the trailer. I know ill save some money on gas with the duster but it spins close to 4000 at 80, makes me nervous! see you there.

There was mention of a second event in Medford. The June date is impossible for me but I'm planning to be up that way in the fall. If I knew the exact dates I might be able to make it (as a spectator).

I've going to drive my car with the 4.11's in the rearend, just keep it at 3-3100. Makes the trip slower but, relax and enjoy the looks from those who pass (they don't have a clue that I am going to a drag strip). It will maintain a 60 at that rpm.
Wayne will there be a price on my head ??
We will be there Fri PM .

I plan to drive down Friday as well. Hopefully there will be a spot to pitch my tent... :D
My Father-In-Law will be coming down with me.

Are you going to be ready Friday Sixpar?

What time are you starting out from Eugene Fopar?

My Valiant is about as ready as it's going to get.

Richard "The Sandbagger" has a $25.00 "bounty" on him. Anyone..anyone that takes him out during Sat's elimination takes a extra $25.00 home with him/her. (Yes, we have a few good women drivers coming to Medford). The second two-day race at Medford will be September 22-23. Please mark it on your calendars. See you there Dave.
Thanks Tristan and all other team members for being a big part of our Killer Bee Racing Team and supporting our efforts. There are going to be large trophies presented after the Sept 22-23 race at Medford to any members of our racing team that races in all four West Coast Races in 2007 ((2) at Redding and (2) at Medford. We are always looking for any sort of sponsorship/donations as it cost all racers "dearly" to compete. Thanks: Ron, David, Seymour, Paul, Erickson Walnut Ranch, Rick...
