Car Model:
Howdy

Im having a ball messing with my slant, thanks in large part to you all.

I finally got my new trans loaded into my house and took stock of what I have. The stuff came out of an 85 d100 truck, and I got everything from zbar to driveshaft (have to shorten that!), including the flywheel and newish borg and beck pressure plate and disc. Now that it has been cleaned up and I know it is all good, I have more questions:

1:
Can I install this trans without changing the B-body shifter location (in front of spool mount, towards the front of the tailshaft)? I wonder if a bent shifter could solve the problem if the shifter hits the dash, as long as it misses the bench seat!
edit: I re-read the article on here and saw the b body to a body swap. It makes sense that the crossmember with the t-bar sockets would be lined up with the spool mount. My tailshaft is not drilled and tapped on the rear boss, has anybody adapted one of these?
2:
Do I need an alignment tool to properly locate the disc when I install the pressure plate? It is my first time doing one of these.

3:
My crank is a later model, it fit my late torque converter nub when I installed my motor. I read that you can install a spacer to fit the late model needle bearing, but does anyone know how much to cut off the input shaft? I have parts to mock up, but a second opinion couldn't hurt.

Thanks

radar
