I'm putting a Rollmaster timing chain & gear set into an otherwise completely stock '79 Super Six. What should the cam be dialed in to, to maximize bottom end torque & fuel economy. |

Target 2 to 3 degrees advanced when using a new chain and gear set. DD |

| Post subject: | Doc, how about when mfgr says 4 degrees advanced? |
Doc, My rollmaster set came with instructions specifying 4 degrees advance for the Erson cam from the forum deal. Plus with my current project of putting in a 727 in place of the 833OD in my d100 (just for the expereicne) , would you recommend your 2 - 3 degrees, or stay with the 4 or even more given the automatic and a 2000 stall convertor on a 3.91? rock '64d100 |

Anywhere from 2 to 4 degrees advance will be fine. I think Erson grinds the cam with 2 degrees of advance. DD |
