Post subject:  3"X11" Drums?

I bought backing plates and drums off a C body at the swap meet at the show in Huntsville.

3"X11" complete with all the parts.

I thought it was a cheap and practical alternative to adapting discs to my '66 B body 8 3/4 for the Duster.

Anyone do this?

You stand a really good chance of making your rear brakes too effective and causing major rear lockup problems by putting 11" brakes on the rear in combination with anything up front. They are also very heavy. If you use these, put minimally-small-bore wheel cylinders in them (3/4" bore, Raybestos WC37863).

I was thinking about using the adjustable proportioning valve. Right now I do have the factory BBP A body brake stuff. Just need to get that part of the project started.

Start with the smaller wheel cylinders, then fine-tune the system with the adjustable prop valve.
